Alright guys, A track Virgin Here. What rpm do u 3000 Stall guys launch at?Hal Settin?

Its going to be my 2nd time at the track ever. The first time was 3 years ago when i was stock, with stock tires.

Now, i just want to know what you guys suggest launching at?
I have a 3000 vig stall.
Also whats the best psi for BFG DR's? i've seen alot of people vary what they set it at for the track. So i want to see what worked for u personally...

And those with Hal's, what do u set the shocks at for the track?

Any other tips would be awesome too.
Thanks guys..

Your best bet would be to just give it a couple of runs and test out which RPMs are best for launching. I always run my DR's at 18lbs at the track. I dont have the shocks but my buddy runs his on 5 on the street and 1 or 2 at the track(thats what he told me anyways).

You'll want to launch at 4000 , seriously depends on your traction. Run the tires at 18-20. Hals 2 in the front 4 in the left rear and 5 in the right rear, unless you have an airbag.

Every car is different. But I get low 1.7 60 ft's with 18psi, launching off idle and good track prep.

(I have a Vig 3200, and count 7 seconds of "good smoke" from the burnout)

All of my friends with high stalls launch off-idle.
They mentioned something like Flashing the Converter, don't know exactly what that means.
I've only driven one LT1 auto and that was a friends 82 Trans Am that we recently installed the LT1/4L60E/B&M 2800 stall, and I didn't get on it since the gears needed to break in.

Oh, my car isn't done yet, if you were wondering about the 4L60E in my car.

your converter is going to hit a lot harder if you launch from idle.

Can't help you on the launch...if you were an M6 I'd tell you 4500!

I run my ET streets at 15#s on an M6...we put my friend's at around 19+/- and they seemed to do well. We tried his at 15#s and with a 2800 stall the car just BOGGED. I guess the A4s need just a little more pressure to hit just right.

I'd start at 20#s and TNT until the 60' starts climbing back up.

my buddy with a 4400 stall does a monster burnout, then launches from idel. He says it flashes harder.
