Alright got some $$$

I finally sold my 95 Wrangler. I want to make my 94 Z28 / M6 fast while still being a streetable daily driver. My Dad owns a shop and builds performance engines for a living. He has an extra set of Lt1 heads at his shop he is going to give me.

1.) Alright so time not being an issue since I can take my time on the heads. What would you guys do to them? Just a good P&P job? I don't want to spend a lot here but whatever you guys think. My Dad does really good work so bring on the suggestions.

2.) Also what cam? I was thinking about a 233/239 or a 224/230 but I'm not sure what would be the best. I really like this WS6 I always see that lives near me. The car has a lot of lobe and idles like a damn racecar.

3.) What else will I have to do? Can I just get a cam and do the heads? Do I have to get bigger injectors, fuel pump, computer tuning, ect.....? Please, if you would go into a little detail of exactly what all I have to do to make this work.

4.) I will also be getting gears soon, please include which gears you would go with, with the setup you suggest.

I also want to do this right the 1st time, so please throw me out something that has been done and is a proven setup.

Thanks a lot guys, I learn a lot on this board- Brad

Dude...no offense, but if you dads an engine builder and builds performance engines, why don't you ask him??

But anyway...whats your goals for this car? Evryday driver.....strip only....what kind of HP do yu want and how fast you wanna run?

I would go with a Hotcam if you want a mild but good performer but an everyday driver or a cc306 or a GM 847 for more. If you want to get the most outta the cam you gotta do the heads. The heads are where the power is at. Gotta do them to see some real gains. Maybe a nice P&P job with some 2.00 and 1.56 valves. Or you could go bigger on the valves with some chamber work.

No offense taken thats what I asked him too. My Dad builds all out race car engines mostly. People bring him stuff and they tell him what to do and he does it. He told me to get on here to find out what a common setup is that is proven to make power.

Most people he builds for are drag racers with loads of money. They tell him to make these head flow as much as he can, or bore this block as big as possible, ect. They can afford to do a lot of trial and error BS, I can't.

Its going to be a daily driven street car as stated above.

I know I'm going to do heads, cam and already have exhaust.
