Re: almost have $15,000, please review project

Thanks for the replies, i do understand that i will be spening another $6-8000 on drivetrain and the the ptk hot parts and whatnot, but i will be tackling that later on in the project, for right now i am mostly concerned with just the motor and it's related components.
thanks for the link on the shop, i never planned on assembling the bottem end myself as mentioned in the post.
Does anybody know a good priced high volume oilpump?
I didn't think the quote for the heads was that bad..
new castings, springs, valves, retainers, rockerarms, custom cam, lifters, pushrods, ported intake, and timing set all for 3,400 didn't seem too bad i thought... and nesides, this way i can re-use my LT1 intake instead of having to buy and LT4 with the AFR's.
I shop around some more.. does anyone have any better suggestions on a larger cam... I don't mind a lope at all on the street, just need to pull enough vaccum for the brakes and idle under 1000rpms and not rev past 6,200.
thanks for your time guys.

Or head volume and cross section....

That's a biggie with the air density that you are looking at in a blown motor.

The more you cool the charge the denser it gets so it's even more of an issue.

so your saying that the 68cc cc chamber and 210 intake runner port is not big enough?? I am confused why it would be so hard to make 750rwhp with 18psi. there are plenty of bone stock ls1 running 11psi making 600-650rwhp with stock flowing heads and a stock cam. I figures with 275cfm, 383ci, larger cam, and 7psi more i could up that number by AT LEAST 150hp? See my reasoning? am i missing something or have i been mis-informed?
thanks

That's more hp than I have seen from a stock motor with 11psi. However, I am more familiar with LT1's than LS1's and yours is an LT1, right? Whole different head and intake design. So I think your reasoning is off, regardless of any real world data (or lack of same). It will just not flow enough air to make over 850hp (needed to see 750 at the wheels).

Go thru advanced tech and look up posts on density. You should find a post I did about it and how it relates to blower motors.

you will need to go alot higher than 6200 to make that kind of power....
any of the setups listed can easily turn 6500 or more. get good lifters and a forged crank.
are you talking about running this motor N/A until you can afford a turbo setup?
i doubt it would even run with 8.5cr and a turbo cam. mabye with some major tuning but it is not a good idea.
