Angry Almost Blew Up Motor

Here's the short version. Dynoed the car on sun and she only laid down about 360 rwhp and the TQ was off. It would drop off up top and dip badly a few times. I know it was hot and humid as hell, but 40 rwhp loss with a tune seemed like alot. The car was very rich no matter what tune I put in.
Today I found out why. The car lost about half power and started stumbling and knocking very badly. I checked the wires, but it sounded internal I thought I had dropped a valve or broke a spring. I limped home and began to mentally prepare to tear the engine apart
I found the problem. The guy at the dyno had clipped a splicer onto one of my injectors for the rpm read. The splice was on wrong and had actually cut every strand except for ONE in the wire. I don't know how it had functioned at all. I removed the splice and reconnected the broken wires. Woooooooahhhhh, what a difference. That cyl had been running lean and caused the others to go very rich. I am very lucky that I did not kill my motor.
I will be calling the dyno shop in the morning

We are gonna have a long conversation. The guys are very cool and opened the shop on sun just for me. They were blown away by the # that the car put down the first time. I was on the dyno for about 2 hrs and they only charged me $75. That said, they made a very bad mistake. It could have been very costly. I just hope that no damage has been done.
I think that they will make it right and find a safer way to read rpms.

Man thats no good at all...let them know what they did wrong but don't scream at them you'll probably come accross as an idiot if you do that, make your point calm and collected it usually gets more notice and thought that way.

Damn, glad u found the problem before u tore the whole thing apart, or before it blew for that matter. I'm surprised they would miss something like that.

man that was to close for comfort , but i would'nt get in their face either, chances are that you'll "NEED" to use that dyno again, plus they might throw in a free run or something

well keep them fingers crossed that nothing else is wrong, glad to hear that was what was wrong. I know the feeling of a car with a miss like all the time, lol...

Got her tuned in a little better today. First pull gained 30rwhp
We tried a second gear run from 2000rpm and she flashed the converter real good which resulted in The straps breaking, the front wheels coming off of the ground, and the car flying through the air
I do believe that Joe Overton knows how to tune He made big power ALL of the way with just the first flash. Down low, the car is a MONSTER!!!!! I would have loved to see what the peak TQ was.
