all you 383 guys, help me understand something
all you 383 guys, help me understand something
I've read up alot on 383's with anywhere from 350 to 450 HP.
I want to build a 383 with a least 400 RWHP and a 150 shot..
What I want to know is, is this streetable hp like a DD??
or is this the type that has to have the big came that shakes
the sh*t out you car while sitting at a stop light???
I dont think 400 HP is asking to much out of a 383, or is it for a DD??
M6 behind it..

Re: all you 383 guys, help me understand something
No probs here for a daily driver. I don't have my O2 sensors working from b4 and after the cat and get about 200 miles per tank, most of my driving is on highways however. When I am out riding around in town or what not I generally get about 150 per tank. I should be gettin my O2 sims and extensions in the next few weeks and hope to notice an increase in fuel economy.
Re: all you 383 guys, help me understand something
Check out my sig (my rwhp/tq would be higher with an M6 and it's also not fully tuned yet. Its got a base tune that's close but it should pull 420rwhp/450rwtq when its done)...I run a small Joe Overton cam and 11.2:1 comp on 93 unleaded. Last highway trip I got 21 mpg. I don't use it as a DD, but I could with no reservations. I've driven from Florida to PA and several long trips, stop and go traffic, etc. The idle is a little lopey, but not bad at all. When I cap up the Borla you don't notice it too much...You definitely don't need a big cam to make hp/tq...just the right one...
