are all TH700-R4 transmissions the same?

i.e. the same physical size?

I am wondering if a 700R4 from an 89 chevy 1500 work truck would fit in my 93 Camaro Z28. I found one for sale for a good deal. I plan on changing out the converter to a 2800 or 3000 stall, new governer, possibly a shift kit, .500 main boost valve, vette servo, etc...

This should work, right?

First make sure the transmission fluid is in good shape, and make sure there is no blcak soot on the bottom of the pan. Second you will need to change the tail section & speedometer gear setup. Third put in the .500 main boost valve, .296 intermediate/reverse boost valve, Corvette servo, and the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of help?

I can use the stock tailshaft off the tranny in the car now, right?

Just swap them out?
