With all this talk about spark plugs lately

I'm using a set of Champions, anyone else using them? Any known issues? Should I switch to the NGKs or are these OK?

If your gas milage is o.k., you have a smooth idle, and no misses in the upper RPM's, then I would stick with them.

Did you gap them to 0.050"?

They are gapped to FSM specs, but I have been battling with an 'off the line' stumble and bad miss, but higher RPM and cruise is fine. I think the stumble is my injector(s), since I have replaced EVERYTHING related to the ignition system.

Plugs can cause some funky stuff to happen.

You could try the NGK's. For $20, it's worth the try.

Also, I would clean your MAF if you have not done so already. It smoothed out my car BIG TIME when I did it. I had not cleaned it in about 55k miles, since I bought the car new. When I cleaned it, I could not believe how smooth the engine reved.

Be careful.

I used electrical contact cleaner that I got from Autozone, and a Q-tip. Spray the MAF elemant very good, as well as the q-tip end and VERY GENTLY rub the build up off the MAF sensors and everything else on the MAF sensor.

I may try just unplugging the MAF and driving the car and see if the stumble is still there...just to eliminate the MAF as a possible element..
