All Inside-how To Spend $6,000

I have a 96 camaro v6 with all parts Z28 except for the engine and traction system. An LT1 swap will be comming up very, very shortly(within the next 2 months) and a nitrous system of a 100 shot will be put on during the installation.

After a few more months, my account should be at atleast $6,000, and I am willing to blow it all on car components.

The engine is a 97 LT1 from a trans am with 40,000 miles and a stock clutht hat also has 40,000 miles.

What do you guys suggest?

Cam-Supercharger-New fuel system-New rearend-Boring the engine-headwork-Upgraded clutch

Just a few ideas.

***Keep in mind that I would like to maintain driveability. I also want the car to remain sturdy and dependable as a daily driver.***

Thanks for your help everyone! make my dreams come true!! hahha

Doesn't Nu-Tek motors sell a $6000 stroked engine? If you can try and get a blown-up LT1 engine and get it rebuilt. Do a low compression stroke and then start saving for a blower.

All depends on how this develops:

If rooster can get that to work, that will awesome and neat bang for the buck.

I hate to say it, but get everything bolted in first and make sure it will work together stock before you start adding extra parts.

If you want to save some cash, go the nitrous route. You should be able to put together a good nitrous setup for less than 1k.

There are cheaper ways to do nitrous, but I'd rather put in all the checks and balances to be safe.

Another option would be to install a Grand National motor in your car. Can you say V6 w/ 76 Q-trim turbo

I would definately do a rebuild, or order a new engine. Go with the LT4 setup, and N2O or whatever else you want to run. 6 G's is a lot of money to spend, and that will give you a lot of room to play.

if you don't want to do a full rebuild, probably forged so that it withstands the n20, i would at least do a cam and some heads. maybe the hotcam or an XE, and some stage 2 or 3 lt1 heads. it will be so much easier with the engine already out of hte car.

Ported heads.

Blower cam.

ATI blower.

Better save for forged pistons and new piston rings later.
