Re: All I need is 22 rwhp...help please

Wow,
Thanks for all the replies. The car has Comp 1.6 R/Rs with comp R lifters. I have crank and alt. pulleys on now. I was advised not to go up in Rocker ratio by Mr. Lloyd Elliot. The GMMG is pretty much a straight thru system with a few chambered baffles in it. I do have Royal Purple in the car now except in the rear due to 4.10 installation. (I have royal purple waiting to go in after 500 mile breakin). . I wanted 500 flywheel HP. I need to have 425 rwhp to reach that goal. So going by all the replies, my list of parts will be
(1) porting the inatake c/o Lloyd. Anyone got a used one for $50
(2)I'll try the EWP. Any company make a plug-and-play wiring harnes for the CSI or the Meizmerie. (3)maybe an aluminum DS that I can get for a good deal. The car is not daily driven, but when I drive it to work once a week, its a 50 min drive oneway with 15 of those min in heavy stop-n-go traffic.
Thanks again everyone.

Tim

I used the Meziere pump with the Painless wiring kit which comes complete with a relay, a cicuit breaker and all the wire with the appropriate terminations..looks and works very well...Look at Jegs or Summit and you'll see the pump and the wiring kit...Some will say you don't need the wiring kit..I think its $30 well spent...

I agree with the fact that Mezire pumps keep LT1s cooler, i put one on mine Z as i was going through the whole cam swap ordeal; HOWEVER i can honestly say i couldn't really feel there being 10 (or more) HP with it. Its a nice thing to see your temp nice and low while sitting in heavy traffic and it does give you a SLIGHT bit more on the top end but 10 HP seems like the MAX if not probably5-7 on average...Just my $.02, best of luck!

You at least need an automotive relay and a small amout of wire.
The pump comes with an inline fuse.
The wiring kit is definitely a good buy.

Uh, how about a good dyno tune? A dyno tune WILL pick up some hp over a mailorder tune. Mailorder tunes on a heads/cam are just so you can drive the car to the dyno shop.

With regards to my rwhp increase with the EWP...Dyno testing was done on the same day with same dyno...gains were solid 9-10 rwhp across the entire tested rpm range 3000-6500...Dyno was a 2006 Mustang dyno...I know results will vary, but I hadn't seen a before and after EWP dyno test on this forum...lots of talk but heres the proof, for my combination...

I am on my 4th summer, and my temp stays at 160ish regardless of where I am, or what I am driving in. And its a hell of alot easier to replace should I ever need to.

So, I still drive it April thru October nonstop. Hell condense it and you still come out with two full years of service, PLUS the cold winter storage.

Hey,
I may have found an LT1 intake but its off of a '94 LT1.
Will it fit my '96 Lt1 without any issues since GM went to reverse flow cooling of the heads in '96.

Thanks

Tim

I was actually referring to the cooler ambient temps way up there.

Re: All I need is 22 rwhp...help please

All lt1 intakes (except for 1993) can be swapped with minor changes. 1994 intakes had a different PCV assembly and no provisions for a vented opti.

Pictures of the difference are here:
http://shbox.com/1/opti_vacuum_conn.jpg

The only differences are block offs in some ports and barbs in some others.

(Just posted here cause I saw it here too)

All intakes from all years of LT1's will fit any other LT1. The 93 intakes are different in the respect that the fuel rails were crossed over at the rear of the intake but they still function the same as the other years. ALL LT1's ever made were reverse flow cooled. If you get that 94 intake, the only thing you'll have to do is change the PCV hose and Optispark vent hose configuration around to match the 96' intake. The 94's didn't have a vented optispark so the hoses on the driver's side of the intake were routed a little differently. Other than that everything else is all the same.
