hm. That's cool, I guess some just aren't as good as others.

- 58 mm TB if you don't already have one.

- Intake manifold porting. If done correctly, this alone can net 20 rwhp.

- Synthetic oil has gained up to 5 rwhp.

- Try narrowing the spark plug gap. We've gained 1-2% power by finding the sweet spot in the gap and it was somewhat less than factory recommended.

- Not sure what sort of muffler GMMG has, but for $60 a Hooker Aerochamber will support alot of power. If you can, measure your backpressure with a gauge. If it's over 5 psi, you need a better muffler.

- Electric water pump like everybody else said.

Intersting what was the gap that you used?

I vote for a ported intake, underdrive pulleys, and an e-cutout.

Good luck with the stock 10-bolt and drag radials! Girdle or otherwise.

I've never used one, but I've heard only good things until now. What brand(s) did you have bad experiences with? What exactly do you mean by "crap out"?

'Cause everyone likes to flip a switch before they hit the gas. Ricer effect I guess. . .

Seriously, get a good muffler and you don't need a cutout.

With LT headers, some people put the cutout before the catalytic converter (I guess you'd need two cutouts in this case). Then you can be "legal" and still have the performance of a catless system when you want it.

Who cares? Mine lasted a year, crapped out, got a brand new one sent to me. 4 year warranty, no questions asked

I'm going to have to agree with Mike here.

<IMHO>
Having survived a car fire; having hot exhaust dumped under the car (ESPECIALLY if you have headers) is a very BAD idea and provides limited performance gains over a well-designed exhaust system. </IMHO>

Re: All I need is 22 rwhp...help please

I just installed a Meziere EWP and got 9-10 rwhp across the rpm range on a Mustang Dyno...The car runs a touch warmer at cruise, but way cooler at idle and in traffic, I guess because the EWP operates at a constant speed regardless of engine rpm...I was the most skeptical convert in the bunch, but the Meziere seems to have a good track record for durability...So far very happy with the mod and there's 10ish rwhp..although your results may vary a little...

--Alan

...remember that hp #s are just that...numbers....Don't get bogged down with dyno numbers as they can easily be manipulated...You mph is your true "hp" dyno...

I (personally) would never go through that exercise on an LT1. We did this on a Spec Miata because the owner was trying to squeeze every last little bit out of it and the rules are very strict. As we closed up the gap, power increased from 108 to over 109 rwhp. I normally would say that this was within the margin of error of the dyno, but his car was amazingly consistent. Pulls where we made no changes were less than .3 hp difference. I don't remember the actual gap amount, but I can find out easily if you're still interested.

If you eliminate the muffler you don't need a cutout.

But really..I only ever open mine at the track, I find that its nice to have the electric one.I have a very restrictive, quiet muffler, because I like my car to be quiet. And yes, it does add HP. Especially on cammed cars, and F/I even more so. Once again, it does all depend on where it is and how much backpressure your exhaust produces.

I was thinking maybe port the existing intake or try a single plane custom made intake for efi
