All Hooker guys... in here

Do you have Long Tubes? How loud is your exhaust system? Are you satisfied with the sound? If your not at WOT, is it overwhelming? I live in a city type area, so I need something that'll stay low until I get on it.

I'm looking for the ultimate exhaust sytem that will scream at WOT and will be remotely quiet at 1 1/2 - 2k around town. I hear the Hooker is the way to go for that.

I have JH long tubes, the JH y-pipe, and a Hooker cat-back and couldn't be happier with the way it sounds. Then again, I've also got some additional modifications. On a stock car, I believe the Hooker is the smoothest and best-sounding cat-back.

He's talking about the Hooker cat-back....

Honestly, it's very quiet at idle. You can hear it in the car at idle very faintly. It's also very quiet at part throttle....you can hear it, but it's not LOUD and doesn't drone. When you step on it, it SCREAMS.

Yes I have that setup plus I have a high flow cat. And before the highflow cat I laso have DMH electric cutouts. The car seems legally quiet when the cutouts are closed, but when you open em up its great. Pretty decent sound closed anyways.

My hooker's pretty quiet at idle, especially considering its a heads/cam car. Much louder wide open, sounds great. Love the sound.

Do you need some special y-pipe if you're going to run a cat with LT's? The exhaust shops in my area suck and I'd rather not mess with getting one custom made if there is one available off the shelf. Thanks!

No one makes a catted Y for them AFAIK. I had a cat welded in right at the Y in the pipe. Worked fine, had to remove trans tunnel brace for clearance.
