Are all Header gaskets the same?

Are all Header gaskets the same?

Do i need a specific gasket for my edlebrock headers or are the gaskets the same?

I would think "D" port shaped gaskets would be the best since that's the shape of the LT1's.

Percy's Dead Soft Aluminum header gaskets are the way to go. Get some Stage 8 locking bolts too.

I also like the dead soft aluminum gasket's although I'm
using the Earl's. Best header gasket I've ever used.

Where can i buy the gaskets? You think they have them like at autozone or pep boys?

No, but you can get the felpros there. Many people use the felpros with success.

I used Copperseals at first but the raised crush area overlapped with the ports on my slp headers and therefore didn't seal completely where there was a crease created at the overlap/nonoverlapping location. They made a good seal, no significant audible ticking, but upon removal you could see black soot from leakage. I believe the AL gaskets operate the same way and have a raised area intended to be crushed down. Chances are they would work fine but to avoid the potential problem of the port overlapping and not crushing that part as designed i would recommend the felpros. You can get them anywhere vs ordering the copper and AL ones and they are cheaper too.
