Airbox Setup on SS hood

Ok, I have to buy a new hood so Im goign to get an SS hood. However, i suppose I also have to buy the airbox setup which seems to run $300 new. What all is involved in putting the airbox on to the hood/car. Can i still do it after the hood has been painted, because i think im going to wait a few weeks before i get the airbox. What keeps rain and debris from going into the intake since the scoop is open?

There are baffles that keep the stuff out. You can wait as long as you want before you put the airbox in. It bolts to the top of the intake and connects to the MAF.

Youll have to bend the drivers side AIR tube on the manifold, the airbox wont clear it.
