Airbag light blinks at start-up?!?

Airbag light blinks at start-up?!?
My air bag light blinks at start up about 7 or 8 times. I know that I messed up my temp guage doing a plug job, but I have no idea why the airbag light would blink.
I did a search but couldn't find anything. Are the two problems related? or does a blinking airbag light mean something else?

PS - I just bought an Opti (Non-vented) off a board member and it just feels like a lightweight, cheap piece of plastic with shiny tan crud on one side. Is it suppost to look this cheap? If so, I can understand why they crap out so easily.
