air temp senser help

air temp senser help

I was just wounder if any one knows or tried to put a resistor in place of the senser.my set up i have it will not work with out drilling and tapping my new pipes.so if any one has done this or knows what resistor it is could you let me know thanks.

Not a good idea to stick the resistor in the IAT sensor connector. There have been more than a few people who have tried it on the dyno and lost HP. In the MAF cars (appears you may have a 95 from your screen name - a "signature" would help people answer correctly), there is limited use for the IAT sensor data. There may be an elusive 3deg of ignition advance that is added based on IAT. But it only seems to be a factor (timing not added) for very high IAT temps, which makes sense. The best thing to do is relocate the IAT sensor away from the engine heat, where heat soak can cause problems. Relocating it to the filter area of a CAI is not a bad idea.

Again, you appear to have some sort of mods involving "new pipes".... a list of "mods" included in your new signature would also be helpful.
