AIR questions

Well the cat finally took a dump on my car sending all of the guts into my muffler before I could get to an exhaust shop.....so I knocked the rest of the guts out and cleaned it out and had a new muffler put on it and just left the gutted cat on for emissions aesthetic purposes....It passed emissions like this so no worries about that.....My question is this......Without there being a cat, is there any use of running the AIR system? I am under the impression its main objective is to heat up the cat quicker after start up? If it doesn't do anything else what are some recommendations on short or mid length headers? also will it throw an ses code if its deleted?

Re: AIR questions

Without the cat, AIR serves no purpose at all. In your OBD-I 94 you can delete the entire system, and you will not get a code/SES light as long as there is a good fuse and relay in the system.

Re: AIR questions

Ok....sounds great......Now to find a set of headers that are short to mid length, and block off the AIR ports....
