What year is your car 94-95 obd1 will not set off the SES light obd2 WILL and you will need to have it programed out.

Go to www.projecttransam.com they have a write up on it there. It wont set an engine ses unless you have obd2 on your 95, it won't be obd2 on your 95 unless its from california. Good luck

The best way to determine what OBD system you have is to simply look at the emissions sticker under the hood. It's up on the radiator support and if you look carefully it will state whether the car is OBDI or OBDII

You're just lucky.

Not true. All 1995 LT1s were OBDI.

The only real reason to remove it is if you don't have cats. Even then, it is only a small weight savings, nothing more. It supplies extra air to the cats to allow them to heat faster during the first few minutes of engine operation. Another benefit is that it helps to protect the cats from the rich fuel mixture when the engine is cold, thereby prolonging their life and resistance to clogging.
