Air inlet Hose
Air inlet Hose
Hi. in my car i have the original rubber air inlet hose for my lt1 and the boot that fits around the intake on the engine is ripped and i used gasket maker and some giant rubber bands to make a new boot for it however it has that dumb long plastic thing on it that supposedly reduces intake noise and i would also like to just replace it but gm told be that it was like $250 to buy it from them and i cant find it anywere else. i just recently knowticed alot of people who post pictures of their engines have an aluminum one like in the picture below and i was wondering were to get one. there is one on ebay but i dont trust ebay crap cause buying ebay parts is a great way to kill your car. if any1 knows were to get one of these dont hesistate to post a link.
When you shop for parts, don't you tell people the year of your car? You need to do the same when asking questions. Not every year LT1 f-body is alike.
Most people like to make a signature with basic car info. It really helps out.
A GM 1LE elbow p/n 25147187 (no silencer) is $73.72 wholesale ($120.13 list) at the dealer. It fits 94-97s.
The dealer that told you it is $250 does not want your business.
93 model 1LE elbow is GM p/n 25147210 $61.36 wholesale ($84.29 list).

The aluminum inlet elbows are made by:
Vortech - Summit PN: VOR-4GH112-050 (satin) and -058 (polished)
Trick Flow - Summit PN: TFS-3150801 (black), 315080 (ceramic coated), 315B800 (satin)
They are right next to each other on page 327 of the catalog valid through 6/30, in the "TPI/LT1/LT4" section.
As Shoebox suggested, add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and any major, mods. That way people can help you easier and more accurately. Left click on "User CP" on the red task bar at the top of the page, and choose "edit signature".

That last link doesn't appear to be the GM 1LE elbow. That is a polymer replacement that Trick Flow makes. This is the 1LE for $77.29:

to the op I have the Trick Flow aluminum elbow, its fine but gets hot, and holds the heat.
I think you would be better with the 1le or the polymer one from Trick Flow.
when I purchased mine they did not offer the polymer one
