!AIR, Help!

Does anyone know the thread pattern on the 22mm drain plugs Im supposed to use? I went to Auto Zone and Pep Boys and none of them can seem to find a "22mm drain plug". I also had a problem finding a 5/8 vacuum cap, the biggest one I could find was a 3/8. Any suggestions?

Re: !AIR, Help!

I "think" its 22mm - 1.5 . I have them on my car. When I measured the old AIR fittings, they are actually a 7/8" thread, but the 22mm oil drain plug fit MUCH better than the stock fittings. I also bought a couple of thin copper washers to seal the plugs... the washers are avaialble on the same display as the oil drain plugs.

Re: !AIR, Help!

Mine are M22 oil drain plugs...Thats what they are listed as over at O'Rileys Autoparts...They were about 11 bucks a piece so I took them out of the plastic box and walked out with them in my hand.

They have M21, M23 etc..etc...Shouldn't be too hard to find.
Good luck!

Re: !AIR, Help!

Ok, I tried all of the local auto parts stores and they dont have anything as big as an M22. I even tried a local speed shop and they told me to go to Home Depot and look in thier plumbing section. One problem, all plumbing fittings are standard! Where did you guys get the plugs from? Is there an auto parts site you guys can link me to so that I can order it from the net? Im running out of options!!

I've got a couple I bought that I'll sell you (cheap if you will pay shipping). I got them before I put on the LT's. Let me know if you need them.

Re: !AIR, Help!

They were used in a few Euro... cars. Alfa Romeo for one, older BMW's, some Porsches, Audi 5-cyl Quatro, some Fiats. But they are going to charge you $20-35 for them. I got mine at a local auto parts store for something like $2.39 each.

This outfit sells them (model 1016) for $1.99.... but the shipping will kill you.

Re: !AIR, Help!

I picked mine up at Carquest Auto Parts. After the response I got from the guy at the parts counter, I must not have been the first person to come in looking for these.... he knew exactly what they were for .
