air/fuel and N20 guage questions

I got a couple questions, the first is what all do I need to use a air/fuel gauge such as ATM-4375 (autometer ultra-lite digital guage)... Do I need the 2244 accessory kit? What about the N20 gauge, Do i just need the 4an fittings and braided hoses to run that? How much hose do I need... does it need to run all the way from the bottle to the gauge?

Yes. You'll need a "t" fitting to run the line from the bottle -> fitting then fitting -> guage and fitting -> nitrous solonoid.
Guage will also need a power and a ground.. but that's pretty much a given.

well that clears up everything about the nitrous gauge. What about the air/fuel gauge, what all do you need to run that, do you need the 2244 (summit) accessory kit (Sending Unit, O2 Sensor, Air/Fuel Ratio..)

No you don't need any kit. It should be 3 wires power, ground, and one you splice into an o2 sensor.

So can I just run a silicone hose for the N20 guage, or does it have to be a braided hose?

Re: air/fuel and N20 guage questions

You must use a hose with at least an 1,800psi burst strength. Given the fact that it ends up inside the passenger compartment, I wouldn't use anything less that high pressure braided S/S.

Alos, be sure to put the special flow restriction fitting that comes with the gauge in the line at the point where you take the connection off the main nitrous line. The fitting prevents a huge cloud of opaque nitrous (actually, humidity condensed by the expanding liquid nitrous) from filling the passenger compartment in the event the gauge or the line breaks.

Is this using a NB O2 sensor as a means of monitoring the oxygen content of the exhaust?

Re: air/fuel and N20 guage questions

it uses your o2 sensor and shows the voltage that it is producing, showing if your running rich or lean.

If that is the case, I find it a bit disconcerting that the original post used N2O gage (implying use of N2O) and a NB sensor (to monitor) in the same sentence. In addition to above, I also consider that scarey.

Re: air/fuel and N20 guage questions

It's not that using an A/F monitoring device is scary, as I would recommend using a quality unit to complement a power adder. It is using/expecting a cheap/unreliable 'switch' to undertake the responsibility of providing accurate numbers. As far as accurate numbers are concerned, the NB sensor is basically useless. If anyone is serious about getting reasonably accurate data, they better be willing to foot the bill.

The one ya will need to do it right and log the results cost over $500.00.Then ya need a laptop to download the log and read it. Just one of those light show guage will get ya a blown motor.
If ya use the recommended pills and pull 2* of timing for every 50HP ya don't need a monitoring device that ya can't read on a strip pass.Ya better be watching the center line!!!!!!!

Re: air/fuel and N20 guage questions

i wasnt planning on tuning the car with a air/fuel gauge, just was going to try and monitor detonation after the car is tuned (to make sure there is none) with the air/fuel gauge... Well that was the plan until I realized how useless these things are
