air/fuel ?

I just hooked up my air/fuel gauge today and at idle it shows its way past 18.0 thats the highest the gauge reads and at wot it shows 10.3 and cruising around it reads about 16.5.I know the car has been running rich but I didnt think that bad and at idle is it suppose to be that lean?Does this look like a problem?btw the gauge is the aem wideband and it has a mail order tune from pcm4less.my mods are in the sig.

Where did you mount the wide-band sensor?

At idle, cruise, etc in closed loop, it should run 14.7:1. In power enrichment mode (~WOT) the stock target A/F ratio is typically about 11.7:1, with a good tune running closer to 12.8:1.

A big cam with a lot of overlap will blow a lot of air through the exhaust valve at low RPM. That may be leaving you with the impression that its running lean. Usually, the stock O2 sensors see the air, and the PCM richen the mixture, which it really doesn't need. You can take some of that out with a good tune.

I mounted the sensor in the y-pipe where it becomes one right before the intermediate pipe. The car runs real strong but I do have cold and warm start up issues when warm I have to start it at wot(flood mode) to get it to fire up and when its cold it has alot of trouble running until it warms up then its fine.I have changed the temp sensor on the water pump and that wasnt the problem.Im thinking my mail order tune is way off and I need to get it dynoed tune.

Mike, getting a dyno session with Bryan should clear up your issues. He knows what he's doing.

Joe I was going to have him do it a couple of months ago but the week he was suppose to do it my oil pump drive gear broke and I couldn't make it. I just emailed Bryan tonight to see when he is going to be in the area again hopefully soon.

MAF mode or speed density?
Your fueling might be way lean. Once it warms up and goes into closed loop fueling corrections are made and (maxed out) and AFR richens up to 16.5.
What does your wideband say about 20 seconds after you cold start it? Look for any vacuum, post-maf, and exhaust leaks.

its running maf mode and its a granitelli maf when i get it tuned again Im throwing my stocker back in.If I can remember when its cold its in the 16s then when its in closed loop it shoots up to 18.0 which maxes out my gauge.
My intake elbow has a little tear on the end were it slides onto the throttle body.Ive checked for vacumn leaks but didnt find anything.
