Air Conditioner help.... newbie

Always wanted to know this question..... 2 weeks ago i left my ac switch on the max or recycle **** and turn my car off.... does this hurt the system in any way? i left it on for a week in that position..... i hardly drive my 97 camaro SS maybe once or twice and week.

i cant think of any reason that would harm anything . is it giving you problems ??

thanks for the reply, im just nervous it would wear the compressor down by turning the car off while the a/c is in cycle.... Thanks

I don't think it matters at all. If you wanted to be ****, you could say shutting off the car with the A/C on will leave the evaporator and box kinda wet, which can cause mold if the car just sits. Technically, before shutting down for that long, you should turn the A/C off and run the fan on high for a few minutes to get rid of any remaining condensate.

Yeah. Mold is the only hazard there. Around here if you don't dry out the evaporator at the end of the day, your car is eventually going to smell like an old beer cooler.

it makes no difference. When you shut the key off the relay will disengauge anyway.
