Re: AI Trickflow Heads Dyno results!

Well, I gained about 20ish hp, and about 50ish tq over the 350, but that was dynoing in 95* heat and about 98 humidity, compared to the 58* no humidity day when I dyno'd the 350. I'll see if I can get the dyno sheet up today or tomorrow. Power was up across the board though, by quite a bit.

20 and 50 is a lot IMO...which makes me think I worded the question wrong...so let me rephrase my question...

If I take a 350-355 and put a lets say LE3 package on it...and then a 383 and put the LE3 on it...keeping all things as fair as possible what power difference is there through the RPM range...I mean if at any given rpm not peak I'm up 50 on the tq side thats great...

As I said I gained quite a bit throughout the chart, not just at peak. I'd have to take a look at it again to really tell you exactly how much... This isn't a drag race only car though. It's a daily driver, so I'm not going all out with the power. It's a damn good street car that should run pretty well at the track too.

If that is the case how can Rick Abare's set-up with the LT1 intake & stk TB launch him to 134mph...any one here know how to calculate rwhp required to get approx 3450lbs down the track in 10.2 sec at that terminal speed??

Re: AI Trickflow Heads Dyno results!

some pretty bad *** #'s.

I have pretty much seen thesame thing that you are talking about. The 383's and 355's make about the same peak #'s but the 383 has more area under the curve in HP and TQ. Going with the LT4, TFS or AFR head helps HP #'s above 6000 RPM but it seems the LT1/LT4 intake seems to restrict things right after that.

Notice I said "hydraulic" in my post. I assume this is a Solid Roller motor.

500 is gonna be kinda tough to hit with a HR 383. Thats gonan take a bad *** cam and a damn good valvetrain...

Re: AI Trickflow Heads Dyno results!

Thats not bad numbers...I hope you get a little more tq though. On my 355 with stock heads p&p and valves and a solidroller put done 420rwhp and 388 rwt. I also met the stock bottom end hp. Wrist pins took a crap on it. Solidroller is the way to go if you dont mine the maintence.

Re: AI Trickflow Heads Dyno results!

my engine builder seems to think he can do it with a high rpm setup and a very good valvetrain

Re: AI Trickflow Heads Dyno results!

I guess it's doable with enough rpm... still need a pretty big cam to make power that high...

Re: AI Trickflow Heads Dyno results!

If the induction system and valve events stay the same, the VE will drop linearly to the increase in displacement if the compression is the same.

Basically, HP development it solely dependent on VE. Displacement chooses the point of CSA and D/C restrictions (when it stops making power)
