AI / LE packages.. need to beat 12.2sec import
Im definetly going to go with one of these packages from AI or LE. I have a budget of about 2000$ and was wondering if any of these packages will put my daily driver in the 11's on the quarter mile. My cousin has a Subaru Legacy that has done 12.2 best time on the quarter mile. My main goal is to obviously beat him.
I would like to try and keep my torq more around the low and mid rpms. Ive been looking at everyones sig's but i can't seem to find anyone with just the LE or AI packages w/ supporting mods but WITHOUT a 383 etc. What do you guys suggest?

I'll be honest with your mods listed and budget in mind your are going to come up short with only 2g's going into the project, your going to have to take into account gaskets, rockers, fastners, other bolt on's, tuning, tires, suspension, that ****ty 10 bolt, etc if your planning on running low 12's/ hi 11's
You can do 12.2's with just a cam if you set the rest of the car up right.
11's with either package are cake, but your budget is a little unrealistic unless you start looking for used stuff (which is def. always available)

If I had another $2000 I could do it with a bolt-on car...
I just need a good rear and some suspension peices, and after this weekend I should have already gotten it light enough...

Im about 200-300 feet above sea level where i live according to a grid. Im sorry when i meant budget i meant i didn't wanna spend over 2g's for the actual package. Im willing to dish out extra mods for tuning, tires, gaskets etc. I already have spohn rear lower control arms that i haven't installed yet. Would that be sufficient enough as far as suspension? I thought the packages already had rockers and everything was ready to bolt on. Besides gaskets and fasteners, tune, what else would i really need?
I am sure that lots of people have done it on the stock bottom end, the only question is what will you blow up. The stock 10-bolt will definitely blow with any type of sticky tires (just a cam and DR's blew 2 of mine up), and the bottom end should be checked and maybe bearings replaced to do it right if you ask me.
As for the origianl question, I gotta say your gonna need more money or get lucky cause ive thrown double + what you plan on spending and im still not there.
I know there are guys here that are doing it but It hasnt worked for me "Yet".
I wouldnt say cake, Ive been trying to get my H/C car into the 11's for over a year and ive got every possible supporting mod except a E-WP.

Lots of attention to detail went into my valvetrain setup, but other than that, nothing crazy in my setup.
I run in good elevation, it helps, but it's not all. Hell, I went 12.0's cam only..

Is your car tuned for your mods? If not, get that done. Then get 4.10:1 gears, a set of Mickey Thompson ET Streets, and a rear end girdle, and make sure you race him on a really hot day.
If there's money left (and there should be), a good cam will help too.
Your car won't run 11's like that, but he won't run a 12.2 on a hot day.
