Yeah, as long as you don't want a billet cam.
Their is nothing wrong with a cast cam. I'm running one of Joe's cams, but cast because I've seen the billet cam tear up the "distributor" drive before on higher mileage motors. When I got the cam I talked with Joe about it and he said he's never seen it, but I figured I'd not take the chance. My car is driven about 35k miles/yr so it'll get lots of miles in no time at all. Difference in price is only about $25.

I'm also on stock bottem end, and ran a 11.84 at 114.7 with one of Joe's small cams(~220/226) and Lloyd Elliot heads and no power adders. I can't wait to see some #'s out of this setup.

I'm with Joe.... shouldn't ever be a problem. Any billet cam built for an LT1 is going to have a cast gear on it which is compatible with the stock distributor drive gear.

Man...what lsa is that cam on? I have a CC Xtreme 236/242 ground on a 110lsa and it sounds like its stock with the idle set at 950rpm. There must be something seriously wrong with my car....

nice to see mindgame is still around.. back to the topic of dfi.. a lil birdie told me dfi could be worth as much as 30hp over a stock pcm tune.. Actually a buddy of mine is doing a back to back test of a stock pcm w/ a tune and a fast setup.. should have numbers sooner or later on that.. i'm anxious to see some real world numbers.. Can't hear your cam as the puter i'm on is a p.o.s but i can only imagine.. Good luck with it.. my bottom end lasted 150K miles.. LTx's are in for the long haul...
