AI H/C track times.....

Ran my car yesterday and had a best of 11.48@118.3 in the 1/4 and a best of 7.34@95.98 in the 1/8th. Short times were 1.73-1.75 on those runs.

I'm still running a 3.23 gear which I think was hurting the car especially through the 1/4. The car would shift into 3rd right after the 1/8th and the rpms would drop to around 4500 and only pull to about 5200 through the traps. I was still pretty pleased with it for the first time out and think the car will run 11.oh's with a gear change.

*edit*
Heres a video of one of my passes. Ran 7.38 1/8th and 11.51 1/4 on this video with a 1.76 60ft.

I wonder if there will be a pool going on how long it takes for this to be an AI vs. LE thread?

Seriously, nice times. Changing to 3.73/3.90/4.10/4.11 gears should definitely help your 60'/ET.

Thanks!

Lets hope it doesn't turn that way. I would rather hear opinions on how much a gear change would help.

FWIW when my only changes were 3.73's and the crane 227 cam (only gained 19rwhp) I went from 13.0 to 12.5. The tranny was slipping on the 12.5 run as well. I gained 6mph too. I don't see bottom 11's/high 10's being a problem with a better 60' and 4.11's.

good times.

I would think just getting the 60 fts down in the 1.60 range will get you in the 7.0 range.

More gear "should' get you in the 6.90 range.

Ditto on the gear opinion. I'd likely stick to a 3.73 though...

Nice ET's..Id stick with 3:73's, unless you dont drive it much. If you dont, drop it down to 4:10's

Wow you can really hear it fall on its face on the 2-3 shift. Is the converter locking up? I'de say low 11's shouldn't be a problem with more gear and a better launch.
