-That is garbage and you defended it with a gearing argument.

Guys,
We appreciate the kind words
We are not selling the head that was ran prior to this. That is completely irrelevant. Again, we simply wanted to make the point with actual results that people on average are lead to believe they need alot more head than what would run best. As stated, we are inundated with the same questions and misinformation we see posted daily. Nor was this thread posted to tell everyone how Rick runs so well or his setup, sorry.
The head is nothing more than the same (Casting#643) CNC lt1 head we sell everyone else. It has the normal 11/32" 2.00/1.560 Ferrea 6k valves and the valve prep/job are exactly as they are on the heads we sell to everyone. That was the entire point - to show just what the head is capable of in an efficient package. If we feel it's worth it then we may very well go to an LT1 based head with more capacity. At this point, I honestly don't see it being worth it. However, because we know what can be done "no holds barred", we were interested in what the product we offer to anyone can be made to do. No one is trying to claim you can simply bolt on this particular head with this particular camshaft and run high9's/low10's at 130+, that's absurd. What we have proven however is that it IS possible if you know what you're doing.
Joe, very professional. Do you make any posts that aren't either shots at everyone else, or unpaid advertisements? Say what you want, but when you remove the restricted GM LT1 castings for a gen1 setup that's been done countless times, you simply aren't running an LT1 anymore. How long have people been going fast with regular small blocks? Don't tell us what isn't impressive.
We've followed steve quinn's progress over the years with everyone - very impressive.
We're also more than familiar with SE class cars, and I'm amazed that some people are acting like there's not much to them.
We are confident Rick will see 9's with the same cylinder head package we'll sell anyone, and we'll be sure to update with timeslips, etc.
Take care/Phil

Looked like a semi-call out to me?? I just answered!!!Yes a semi call out...but see my post above yours. Those are some respectable "show car" times. For what is presumably a heavy car, the times look good/better.
In terms of the original post, I guess well ported LT1 castings are doing alright for themselves.

We used AI heads on our customers PTK kit turbo LT1. Car went 156.74, full weight with ALL accessories keep in mind and through a 6spd.

He launches at around a whopping 2000 rpm. I don't blame him though, I would hate to see him twist that body up. He is also still cruising around on the stock 10 bolt
AI- Good times with that setup. It's hard to believe that you could bolt a set of heads up that are so different and run that on the same tune.
How fast is your quickest H&C car? Just wondering what I'll be up against. I expect to be in your ballpark within a few weeks with a stock bottom end and a hyd roller. Stock LT1 castings with stock size valves too. I agree with ya on the port velocity issue
Best of luck

Hey now, this aint dodge ball guys. Inquiring minds want to know.
And what would you guys say to a stroker with a 275cc head making close to 700hp with a small solid cam? Oooh that port volume thing is so misleading.
But one thing at a time... what's this about a national record?

MG,
Don't tell anybody, but I think it has something to do with the length of the runner. What do ya think.Maybe?
I hate to be in the dark about these things.
National Record--- where, when, who? Gotta see that.
Re: Ai CNC LT1's and 130mph+ traps... 9's forthcoming?
I believe they are refering to the car's owner/driver and his record. They weren't refering to breaking some N/A record or running in the 6's. Below is what I found of the driver's record:
Track Record: NHRA ET- BRACKET
4 Time Grand Champion (most rounds won by one driver) 1999, 2002
3 Time Semi Pro Champion (non electronic), 1999, 2000, 2002
2 Time Super Pro Champion (electronics), 2001, 2002
First time ever, a foot brake car has won both in one season!! 2002
Won the National Dragster Challenge and the Wally trophy. 2002
Named Best Driver of the year 2 times. 1999, 2002
That's quite a record for the past couple of years. A good number of championship titles.
I don't know him or anything, but I guess good luck to him with his new setup.

Re: Ai CNC LT1's and 130mph+ traps... 9's forthcoming?
A couple things need to be cleared up before a bunch of guys start buying stuff because they read it here...
What compression and what octane gas?
How radical of a cam in regard to duration and ramp rate? Lift means squat...you can run a dinky cam and make it very aggressive.
What gearing...4.56's? What stall? TH400? 350?
The combustion chamber sizing was what before and after? Change in compression? Sounds like the previous setup was not a good combo...so in all fairness, maybe he needed more motor for the larger heads?
Anyway, regardless, that is cooking and congrats.

Looks good to me.... Nice Job Ai.
It would be a better thread if half the posts were deleted and all the WHO HAS THE BIGGEST DICK crap was left out. Let these guys post their results and not hijack the ****ing thread, jesus have a little respect.
I'm with CANTONRACER here.... I want to know more about the rest of the car/setup.
Hell a short time would be nice to see.... I still want to know where the .4 is going to come from for 9's! A 10.3 is quick, but where is the rest of that gonna come from? Maybe a 10.20 or a tad quicker but a 9.9? Got me how that's gonna happen.
Again, good results.

1st let me thank all those who have contacted us. We are in the process of totally updating our website. The format will be oriented more toward our customer’s cars performance that is verified with documentation. Those of you interested in discussing your setup and allowing us to do the top-end please drop me an email or call for a quote until we can get the new website up.
For those of you interested in Rick’s 60’ it was 1.36. He will be running this weekend and we will keep you posted on the results. Hopefully the air will be a better. As a side note, we plan to have our partner Jeff Creech, Milkman, get the tune spot-on as soon as possible. For you guys in upstate NY, Rick will be running at Napierville Dragway.
For those potential customers following the post, I am new to this message board world and have “challenged” typing skills. Lack of a reply is simply due to the fact that we do not have the time to do this during the work day. No disrespected intended to anyone by not replying. If you want to get hold of us our ph#’s are listed on the site.
Have a great day guys!

Phil didnt you know, even if I posted my mom was sick I'm advertising..geez...
Also maybe you didn't follow Steve Quinn to well...he ran a fabricated lt1 intake (not stock) and there after went to a wilson carb style intake setup.. guess his isnt a lt1 either... As I said earlier maybe boycotting GM will help..
Oh and Phil a 9 isnt a 9 till you run a 9.... goodluck !!! Let me know if you need any help....
