AHH! Exaust Leak !!!

Well, ive had the headers on for a few weeks now, still got the exaust leak. I have been able to quiet it down quite a bit but i can still hear it at low RPMS when the engine has torque applied. Any advice for silencing this annoyance. I have re Tightened all bolts several times. Its possible the leak may be coming from the slip on tube from the primary header on the driver side (MAC Headers). Ill check that next time and apply more high temp RTV. Any advice would help. Thanks

Also, im kinda stumped on this, my passenger side header is touching my A Frame - when i take off from a stop at low rpms or slowly, i get a really rough vibration from it. From what i hear all i can do is have someone heat up the header and bend it up, any alternatives that i can do myself ?

Motor Mounts will fix that! I had the same thing when I did AS&M headers. I wish some one had told me before I did the headers that this might be an issue cause changing the mounts is a pain with the headers on, but it can be done. The mounts are only like $50 from Summitt. I would suggest getting the poly mounts as opposed to the rubber factory mounts. Also, this may be what is causing your exhaust leak as well.

The factory mounts are made of rubber and they sag when they get old, causing your motor to sag as well. New mounts will raise the engine back to its original height, taking that header flange up as well. I was surprised at how "smooshed" the factory rubber mounts were when I took them out.

Check the EGR hose on the passenger side header that comes from the intake. Mine was leaking there after putting my headers on.

Also, I found the best way to find a leak or any sort of noise is to use a long piece of rubber hose, like PCV hose. Get a piece about 2 feet long and put one end up to your ear and search around the Headers, engine, etc. to find the noise or leak. It works awesome. When you find the leak, you will know it.

Good idea to find the leak.

I have an exhuast leak coming from the EGR tube where it bolts to the header, I bought a new tube and still it leaks. I had to use some exhuast cement to stop it last time.
