The aftermath opinions please
Well after i placed the hot cam kit in we had a bunch of rain here. i went out to start my car and it started and stoped as soon as it started. i tore everything apart looking for the problem come to find out my wiper cowl leaks water on top of my motor and either thru the injector o ring or a leaky intake gasket there was water in the number 8 cylinder. well after being really pissed off and takin my time i changer all the gaskets and orings again. i started it today the starter sounded funny but it started and reved good no bad vibrations no smoke i did check the push rods they were good . so my question is if i had a bent rod would i tell right off the bat? i
Re: The aftermath opinions please
When you say bent a rod, do you mean pushrod or connecting rod? How much water was in the cylinder? If you bent a connecting rod you would be able to tell. Even if it was only minisual amount it would increase the side load on the cylinder and oval out the bore and you would loose compression. Of course you wouldn't be able to tell just by starting it up for a few minutes, but you would notice it the more you drove it.
