aftermarket valve covers

will these fit a 95 lt1 from a camaro with the passenger side alt. mount?

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...hItemId=150989

i'm pretty sure that i have to grind the alternator for clearence.

anyone have a link to that guys tech article? i can't locate it anymore.

also, i have cc roller rockers and studs. this style 1.6 ratio

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=23367

also using poly locks.

these valve covers should fit right? the stockers fit over them fine.

like i said, if anyone has a link to that guys tech article on how he made his fit, post it up for me, thanks guys.

Re: aftermarket valve covers

You would either have to grind the alternator or modify the valve cover to get them to fit.

You might be able to buy a set of LT1 covers that are pre-notched for the alternator on the passenger side and switch sides. I'm not sure if the VC bolt holes are equidistant from the outside edge of the valve cover though...

Re: aftermarket valve covers

well, they don't fit not even with grinding. looks like i'll be getting some chromed stockers to clash with all my other polished aluminum. it would have looked nice though, especially after i polish the heads, intake, and throttle body

you can see how much i'd have to grind. bummer

thanks brett! i'll go look at it tonight if you look at the top or "left: edge of your red line, you will see a little screw tip coming out. i think that will hit too did you cut that? i would think you can't , it looks like it's holding the regulator on.

You do not need to chop and maime your new short or tall
valve covers to fit either 1.52 or 1.60 RR.

Zoops has a "Riser Bracket Alternator" #8175 which would
allow about a 1.4 or 1.5" movement to allow for tall valve
covers. Oh yeah...cost = $31.95., and believe it's Billet.

95 Z28 LT1 A4. Red w/Black Ttop. 3:83, 52mm Holley, Tri-flow
full race suspension, etc.etc...too much to list.

It's a great idea but what about hood clearance?

Re: aftermarket valve covers

I have put tall Proform valve covers on mine with a little grind on alternator.
Nice to know you can relocate it but I beleive grinding is also a nice and cheap solution.

Re: aftermarket valve covers

that is up to 1 1/4" adjust. possible for the Zoops Riser bracket #8175
you may only need a 1/4" adjust. Zoops sells them for this purpose
clearance is not a problem with the hood.

95 Z28 Red w/Black Ttop. etc.

Does anyone have pics of this installed? Also with the additional height of this new bracket did you guys have to use a longer serpentine belt?

THanks for the info on the Zoop! I just ordered one. Now I can order my 'regular' Tall Valve covers and won't have to worry about ill fitting Canton's or hacking my alternator, etc.
