Smile Aftermarket Oil Pressure Sending Unit Location?

O.K. I have an Aftermarket Oil Pressure gauge that I installed last fall. I simply put the new OP sending unit where the stocker is located. Everything works, but now I have the stock OP gauge sitting dead. I know it really doesn't matter cause I now have the aftermarket one on the piller but it is annoying my that I have a dead gauge. I was just wondering where else is a good spot to mount the aftermarket OP sending unit so I can put in a stock sending unit back in it original spot so I don't have a dead gauge on the instrument panel...

Thanks
Eddie

Use the location the 1993s use for the sending unit-just above the oil filter on the side of the block. There should be a pipe plug there.

im thinking of doing the same thing...can anyone show a picture of where this plug is? is there anything i could plug the factory oil pressure sending unit hole with other than a sending unit?

im just doing it bc its a pain in the *** to get the one wire on the back of the aftermarket oil sending unit....if anyone has any alternatives, please post them

We ran the one on my buddies car off of the plug by the oil filter (93s location), but I have seen people use a T up top as well.

There is no pressure in the oil system when the engine is not running. Oil will not spray out.

Use the plugged hole above the oil filter. It's a no-brainer.

If the motor is not running it would only ooze a little oil, no biggie, just clean the few drops up and teflon the fittings. Most lumberyards carry brass fittings that would work, just bring your present elbo, factory sender, and aftermarket sender with ya in the store and get it all together.
