Question Aftermarket harmonic balancers

Are after market harmonic balancers worth the 300 dollars that you put into them. I know they help with vibrations but what level of horse power makes these things worth while. Thanks for the help

Well a lot of people think so. I beleive it's more rpm then hp though. And of course it eliminates the two piece construction of the stock design.

One advantage is in the "SFI" rating..... required by NHRA, etc. for running under 11.00

The use of a crank key is a plus, and for engines spinning over 7,000rpm there is an advantage in reduced torsional vibration.

Keep in mind, its a "damper" not a balancer.
