i could be completely wrong, but what determines 396 was a "correct" weight.i just though as long as they were all the same you were good.

your car look great btw
thats an other thing. 8 pistons MUST be the same weight, but also after 8 pistons change and weight change, so the balance of rotating assembly changes, and need to be rebalance. thats my opinion.

Altough here in my country people order crankshaft, rods, pistons and built here without balancing Just a few days a procharged C5 is built and I told them, should be balanced, but driver doesn't know anything, he just was happy with his setup and gone away with his car

thanks for nice words about my car "one eyed *****"

What I am saying is, if your pistons you are replacing weigh a certain amount, take the new ones and balance there weight to theres. I E #1 is 421 and you have one that is 422, well take one off. Then #2 is 420 and your new one is 422, well take 2 off etc etc. Then when you put the assembly back together you have effectively replaced the pistons with new ones that weigh the same as the ones you replaced them with. So, if the motor was balanced before, it will be the same now as all you did was chnge the pistons/rings etc with exactly the same wieght items on each rod etc.

I think there is a misunderstanding here. My current pistons have 396 weight. All of them 396. And The dished ones 417 weight. So there is 21 weight difference for each pistons. If there would be 1,2,3 or 4 its okay but 21 is a big difference. If I got wrong, correct me please.

What length rods you have? If you have 6" rods, you could use the Mahle -26cc pistons which weigh 400g.

Yes, this will require more than taking piston weight off. You need a rebalancing , completely. Sorry
