After market Throttle Body
After market Throttle Body
I am planning on purchasing an aftermarket throttle body. I have a few questions about it.
1 - Can a 58mm TB be used on stock intake manifolds/intake elbow?
2 - 58mm vs 52mm Pro and Cons
3 - BBK or Holley ?
4 - Do most aftermarket TB have coolant pass through like stock TB, i bypassed mine but i just want to know if thats even an option.
5 - average horse power increase when used w/ Cold Air Intake + Descreaned MAS

1. Yes, but you probably want to port match it if you're going to put one on.
2. 52 will flow enough for all but the most extreme applications, in which case you probably would be in the monoblade area anyway. However the price difference between 52 and 58 was very small when I bought mine - so I went with 58mm. (BBK)
3. I have a BBK. I would have to say it's more brand loyalty than quality. I have heard bad and good about both of those brands. I haven't had any trouble with mine.
4. Yes
5. Very little unless you have other mods to go with it, most specifically a set of heads that flow better than stock. Don't know what your mods are now but a TB wouldn't be high up on my mod priority list. I would probably go with headers, fresh air then, cam and matched heads. At that point a TB begins to make a little sense. (JMO). Hope this helps
Sorry didn't see your sig. I'm with IDOXLR8 - Headers will definitely be best bang for the buck at this point.
