re

you guys are looking at a Stealth Ram manifold on djexotic08 post it is readily availabe through mail order catalogs. you will need to convert the bolt holes for a LT 1 intake, the vortec style should be easier, and you will need to cut your cowl and remove the wiper and you can run it as it sits. It work'd great on a solid roller 383 BTW

No, because my ported LT4 intake was never really used to capacity because when I dynoed the car it was breaking up and when I raced the car it was breaking up....still ran 11.0@123 breaking up, short shifting, etc...

But this intake is volume wise almost twice and runner height is .15" more than my fully ported LT4(which is bigger than LT4 intake gaskets)...basically ported AFR raised runner heads IMO.

There is no comparision between my fully ported LT4 intake and what I have now.

It disgusts me that LT1s are over 10 years obsolete and we still dont have an aftermarket intake manifold thats worth a damn. If fabrication was easier everyone would be making their own, intakes are not that advanced!

earth to manufacturers: THIS IS WHAT WE NEED and ready to go out of the box at a reasonable price!!

Here's a crazy thought.
Why not simply cut he top off the Lt1 manifold, build stacks around the runners entries
to make them slightly taller, then weld the top back on? That should accomplish
everything we need without too much labor. The fact that the runners stick up into the plenum
shouldn't be too huge of a deal.

OR, simply make a spacer that fits under the manifold and raises it further above the heads.
Your runner would end up with a bit of an S shape, but you'd still have the longer runners.

I'm no machinist, and certainly not qualified to design a manifold.
But those are ideas I'd been wondering about.

Is this for the Lt1 or sbc , whats up with the thermostat pad?

I have wanted to ask what improvements could be done to the lt1 intake to make it better?
Iv read the plenum needs to be bigger, longer runners...
how much bigger and longer?what shapes

draw me one up

I'll talk about it in detail when its finished. But think larger plenum, better entry into the runners, slightly longer runners, straight runners, runners have more volume, weighs roughly half of a stock intake, 2 piece design (removable top), air gaped, and should cool a lot quicker than the stocker.

This pic is over a month old, should be compelety finshed in the next 2 weeks hopefully.

Have been waiting for an update from you for quite a while. Let's see what it looks like when you're finished.

If you check out that link over on tech it tells ya what all they have done, pricing etc. Basically they took the HSR and redesigned it to fit the LT motors. They have different options available and it has been awhile since I last viewed the thread so IDK how close they are to a release or what kind of numbers it has put down.

Gatorhead, if you mean myself, I'm not really interested in the HSR anymore. Unless someone with a LTx modded engine shows up with some real gains over a ported LTx manifold.
I meant Cantonracer and T/A KID. I've been following T/A KIDs progress for quite a while, and Cantonracers intake looks really great.

The trouble is, nobody goes so far as to make a before and after dyno run!!!

I started reading this thread quite some time ago and I have read every single post of this thread.
