AFR Hydra rev Worth it?
AFR Hydra rev Worth it?
Hydraulic rollers are quite heavy and they challenge stock valvesprings at just 5000 rpms - or so I'm told. AFR had an article where they gained like 120 hp from 5400 to 6400 or something on an LT1. I have changed to the 612 springs which are like 135 at the seat and 360 open. I'm hoping the higher spring pressures will suffice up to 6200 rpm. With the comp XE 224/230, would I see much improvement with the hydra rev or is it overkill.
Thanks,

Re: AFR Hydra rev Worth it?
Adding a 120hp is a bunch of bologna. If you're hitting high RPM shifts and doing it frequently, then it would be some safe assurance. Get the right springs and don't worry about it.
BTW, I was in Dayton today.

120 hp
I'd read that article again and make sure there claims are right. A rev kit will keep you from floating valves and is very good to have. Get the rev kit and you will see alot higher RPM's and a full potential out of your cam.
