Cool AFR heads

Lately I've been consttering a heads and cam for the spring. Pretty much set on the CC305 or hot cam but I'm going round and round on what to do with the heads.

Port the stock castings or go new

If I port I will have to ship my heads out as there is no one local to me that I would even trust to hotrod my lawnmower.

If I go new I will most likely lean toward the AFR 180 or 190cc heads.

My end goal is 350-375 RWHP with gas millage and drivabilty of high importance. I want good low end and I'm not interested in spinning the engine beyond 6K

YOUR OPINIONS PLEASE GUYS!

I have the 190 CC AFRs now, they are some really nice peices, On asicly the same set-up youre looking at (305cc with those heads)I ran 12.3s. This was in my 93 Car with LT headers, no cat, 3000 stall and 3.73 rear gears, on MT sportsman Pros. I have the heads now on my 383 and it still runs really really good, before the change to a bigger cam I ran 12.5 s on a full optioned , full weight T/A and me (230#). I would reccomend though doing some clean-up porting to the heads before install, I think I am going to do just that this winter.

The 305 drove pretty good, it was pretty broad power wise but it gave up just a little below 2500 driving around, It would make good power up to 62-6300 rpm. I would also look into the 224/230 cam. They will both have a good sounding idle, not too raunchy but enough that you know something good is there.
As far as Gas mileage goes, on the Highway , steady driving I would get just a hair above 20 mpg , even with the 3.73 gears.
