Be that as it may though, if your stock FPR fails and a new stock one costs more than an AFPR, what would you do?

go ahead and get the adjustable one, it won,t hurt and in the future if you need it it will already be there.
I know I can,t gain any long term gains from it but I may need it when I rebuild the motor and buy LT1 edit.

....so what your saying is that an AFPR is basically useless!!! To tune the A/F ratio you have to go in the PCM, correct? Any adjustment on the regulator is only temporary until the PCM adjusts to the changes made in effect cancelling out the AFPR changes!
My purpose is not to "OWN" the thread, nor to embarass anyone, nor put anyone down. My purpose is simply to provide what I believe to be accurate information on how things work, particularly when I see a thread headed in the wrong direction, or posts containing some information that isn't correct.
Posting the "owned" comment simply causes hard feelings and other issues.

To some of us (maybe those over 30, I don't know) the phrase "owned" conjures up a kid pissing on a Ford sticker, flashing emergency lights after a street race, or other such juvenile heroics, as opposed to your definition of providing educated input to a discussion.
Could just be that I need a better dictionary, but that's the context I've generally seen used.
Sorry for the non-LT1 content.

Also (for those of you running Lt1edit) you can apply the BLM locker and gain complete control of WOT tuning with your AFPR.
