Accel shorty spark plugs

Does anyone know what the length difference is between the accel shorty plugs (P526S) vs. a NGK TR55 (or equal length) plug?

I have another thread posted right now concerning spark plug wire boots burning and these shorty plugs are one of my thoughts.

Thanks,
Adam

Wow Adam, considering they are like $12 apiece I'm not sure that small of a difference is going to buy you anything...what do you think man?

Re: Accel shorty spark plugs

matt65- thanks for the link man.

I don't know what i'm going to do about my wires. I jacked the car up today to get underneath and check out most of the spark plug boots. All are good except for #5. I think the main reason it burned was because the heat sleeve wasnt around the boot very well. I've got some spare boots off a couple of my old taylor wires that i'm going to use in place of the burned one, for now at least.

But if i have anymore problems, i'm just going to bite the bullet and get the shorty plugs and accel 9000 wires.

Re: Accel shorty spark plugs

the accel shorty plugs are about 1/4" shorter than delco's but the problem with the accels i cant find the shorties in the heat range i need
and to add to this autolite 104's are a shorter plug too not real short but shorter than most plugs

Re: Accel shorty spark plugs

Say a fellow wanted to only install shorty plugs in 2 spots where clearance was minimal, and wanted to use ngk tr55's for the remaining 6 plugs. Would that cause any problems?

Moroso blue boots withstand much higher temperatures. There also MSD High temperature boots which are good too. Together with sleeve, they almost survive a contact with a ceramic-coated primary. If you have any air gap, you will be fine.
