ABS light is on constantly

The ABS light is on constantly. As soon as I start the engine, the ABS light is on and doesn't switch off until the engine is stopped. The problem started after I parked the car for one hour.

I checked already the 3rd brake light... the two bulps are burning. Do I still need to change it to be sure?

What else could be the problem? The service-station told me, that one of the three main-units needs to be replaced, but he don't know which one.

Is it possible to read-out the error-code without special equipment?

Thanks for any idea.

First, welcome to the board. I don't know if this is the problem or not, but the front hubs on these cars are notorious for going out. About $130-140 to replace them yourself.

Another thing to check would be the bolt where all the ground wires go to on the passenger side of the engine bay. Make sure it is tight.

Cool

Could be a grounding problem.Check the wheels for corroded sensors(read this on some previous post).Mine was the brake light switch under the dash, behind the brake peddle.Hope this helps.(Also check for correct bulbs called for in manual.)Has anything been bumped recently in the engine bay where the abs unit is?Also might check for corroded connectors there.My02
