Re: Abs Inop Light

I change all of my brake lights. I still have a dead light.. and the abs is worse than ever... the pedal gives at times.. its like something is loosing pressure all of a sudden and the pedal goes almost to the floor and its like stopping a 4-wheel manual drum car... I think i have a bad socket or plug somewhere for the one brake light. I am not sure.

If your pedal goes to the floor, it has nothing to do with bulbs. You should check all 4 calipers to be sure they aren't leaking and bleed the entire system with completely new fluid which should be done every 1 to 2 years anyway.

In order to bleed it correctly, you will need a scanner to shuttle the ABS motors out and back to home position.

Re: Abs Inop Light

Can't do anything till spring.. it snowed here and the car jsut got repainted so its in storage in some unit in town... but, this all started when i painted the calipers red to match the decals i have. I didn't paint anything that didn't need painting.. the brakes are all new (pads, rotors).. no leaks whatsoever. all lines appear to be in good condition.. I even crawled under and checked the abs sensor connections.. they are fine too.. didn't even need cleaning. There was no corrosion or dirt. So this leaves me with this wondering of what is going on. It scares the crap out of me when the pedal gives especially when goin down hill and there's someone in front of me, but it doesn't always do it. It has only done it in the rain, almost as if the abs is trying to kick in or something. I don't know for sure though. I'm taking it in in the spring and having it checked out. If its too difficult to fix i'll just have the abs deleted.

Where would i find one of these scanner's for bleeding the brakes and not messing the abs up?

Thanks
