Abs and air bag lights

My abs light has been on since my long tube install ive checked all the wires none are touching the headers and their both wrapped in heat tape, any suggestions as to why my abs is inop.

Also after installing a waterpump and opti my airbag light came on. someone told me to clean my little red ground terminal and i did and its still on. I also wanted to know what it means when its on and if its dangerous i dont want it to go off when im driving or someting.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Cool

A post a LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG time ago suggests that constant banging on the abs unit while trying to install stuff, can cause some abs issues.Might look at the unit itself for broken connectors ect.My02

Maybe when re-connecting one of the harnesses you had to remove to put the headers in, a pin may have gotten bent. Try checking the pins on the connectors you had to remove that apply to the brake system. Also check for blown fuses.

If that doesn't work, scan it for the code. This will tell you what circuit is the problem and from there it's easy.

As far as the air bag goes, did you disconnect any steering linkage when you put the headers in? Is the steering wheel in the correct position when the car is facing forward? I don't have a lot of experience with airbags but when I defeated my airbag system and made it so the light works correctly, I noticed the coil in the steering column must be precisely aligned. Maybe someone more versed than I can tell you if this could be (I don't know) a problem. Start by checking the simple things first and especially if you disconnected wires while doing your install.
