? about removing the EGR system.
I am in the process of finishing up my cam and header install. I have already blocked of the egr tube on the passenger side of the intake and re-installed the intake. Is it absolutly necessary to remove the egr valve also or just un-hook the vacuum lines going to it.
Also in the process of removeing the intake I destroyed the egr vacuum Solenoid.
I have since purchased a new one (at $25) but am wondering now if I need it and can just return it to the dealership.
If I don't need these things anymore what do you do with the sensors, Leave them plugged in or un plug them and tape the ends off.
I will be taking the car to the dyno to have it tuned and eliminate the egr and air with LT1 edit, so that is not a problem.
I will be finishing tomorrow so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jon

I'm glad that is the case. I will return that solenoid then. I beleive the corvette LT4 dont have EGR but my car still falls under the emission restrictions of an F-body and it has everything the f-body LT1 has.
It makes it a real PITA to get parts from the dealership because I have to always cross reference everything between a 96 corvette LT4 and a 97 LT1 to make sure I am getting the right thing.
Thanks
