About to install brand new lifters, quick question...

I am about to install brand new Comp R lifters in my 1995 Formula that we are doing a cc306 cam install on.

What are the preperation for these lifters? Aren't you suppose to soak them in oil to completely coat the inside of the lifter? If we aren't goign to be able to install them until tomorrow afternoon, should we place all the brand new lifters in a pan with fresh oil to let them soak over night?
Thanks
Matt

Oh, and what other valvetrain parts need to be soaked in oil before installation?

I soaked my lifters overnight. I used assembly lube on ends of pushrods but thats it for valvetrain.

Comp has very informative tech info on their website. The lifters come with a protective coating that needs to be cleaned off. The lifters should then be lubed either by soaking or by simply squirting oil in the side oil hole while holding them upright. Use assembly lube on the rod tips at the rockers. I've seen various other procedures such as pouring oil over the entire valve train so that any parts subject to friction is not "dry". Everyone seems to have a certain method that basically achieves the purpose. I think it is very important to pre-lube the engine prior to start-up.

I believe my Comp R's said to soak them in oil for 30mins.

I always soak lifters overnight and periodically shake the pan so it can get in all the crevices and gets all the bubbles out.

Have setting the lash on those.. they are a biach. I HIGHLY recomend setting lash with the engine running.
