I have a 95 z28 just had the motor rebuilt last summer. I put on a set of headers and a lol bigger cam.i also have replaced the plugs and wires twice, I have also replaced the opti. I removed the secondary air injection for the exhaust as well.sine I got the car running again I have been fighting with a running issue.the car bucks and chugs sometimes not as bad as others,I have not programmed the PCM for the cam and was wondering if anyone has any other ideas to help me figure this problem out.i have no check engine light either which is throwing me off as well. I'm about sick of it and ready to scrap it.. Hope I can get some ideas to fix it before I get to that point

 

sounds like it needs tuned for the cam and any other mods

Can u recommend a good affordable tuner or place to send the PCM to?

 

I have heard people say after a cam swap that you must have the car tuned
not doing so my cause engine failure

 

lt1pcmtuning is probably the cheapest and offers loaner cables and software and you can log and get free retunes for a week. I like that service given you dont have the means to log yourself. Maddog I believe is one pcm for less is another(I believe brian herter is the preffered tuner there). I believe there is another popular one that slips my mind. I believe harris performance is another. A search on here will yeild some results as would one on google. I would type lt1 tuning or lt1 pcm tuning for your search. Some others may comment and give their experience but I have been working with Solomon of the first one I wrote and he has really given good customer service and very quick to respond to emails. My initial tune was off on my injector constants but after got that adjusted wasn't too far off but definately has room to improve. Thats why I think the ability to log and retune is pretty important to get things as close as you can for your money(but thats me). I bought all the things to log and flash myself so I am tweaking from his first adjustment before he tunes for power and wot and fine tunes it all.

WOA! DO NOT! Run your car without a tune! If you're using a serious cam. You can damage your motor that way. Get it turned first so the car will know what it's dealing with.

 

He shows it as the "GM hot cam kit" in his signature, which we can assume (?) is the LT4 HOT cam? Or maybe "lol bigger cam" (?) replaced that????

Not clear what he is dealing with.

 

I thought the lol bigger cam was a typo for lot bigger cam. Might want to let everyone know your cam.
