A4 tricks?

I have an A4 and I'm trying to figure this thing out...
I know from a 25-28mph roll it launches good, but is there any good way to figure out where she likes to be hit from?

Is there any way to wire up some LED's to tell what gear you're in?

any tips/ tricks are quite welcome...

Thanks!

when you drive the car more youll find that you will just know what gear you are in. and yes, I also had the 2.73's and 28mph is the highest mph that you can go WOT and still get into first. Also, since you have 2.73's you will have the first gear selector locked out (thats kinda annoying isnt it?) take off your console where the shifter is (no screws, just snaps together) and cut the rubber stopper off the back of the shifter slide area. (youll know itr when you see it) just pull the shifter back all the way and when it hits that stop, thats what you need to cut off. That will let you manually hold first gear. have fun

I find the computer shifts better than I do (cant keep it off the rev limiter) so I just put her in drive and GO

Manually shifting our automatic cars is NOT recommended, because they are electronically controlled. I've heard this from many people on this board.

I was just saying this so you could hold it into gear if you were say, going from a roll or something. What I do is get on it and then IMMEDIATELY shift into drive so the computer can do its job. I didnt pay that much for me to have to shift the damn thing.

leave it in 3 and nail it, even in D, it shifts real high.

When I had the 2.73's I could only catch 1st at 32mph or lower. Now with 3.73's I can catch 1st at 30mph....and that equals no traction with 275's. Hopefully the 315 nitto drag radials will help, but probably not. Please don't manually shift it either.

Manual shifting an A4 is bad. By doing this the tranny doesn't build up the line pressure to shift right, (can't keep off the rev limiter doing this). Just put it in D and go.
