A4 tranny

I was just wondering about the a4 tranny are they all 2.73. Also I never did a gear change. What kind of time and money am I looking at? Is it worth it and what do you recommend I go with in my a4?

not all were 2.73. if you have a 1,2,d,od gear selector its 3.23, if there's not 1st gear selection its 2.73

some of the A4`s came with 323`s in the rear end.If you have 1st gear on your gear selecter then chances are you have 323 gears.
I picked up 3 tenths when I changed to 373`s from 273`s

Thanks. I have the 2.73. Now when we 2.73 were talking about the last gear . Like it takes motor 2.73 times to turn the wheels or something like that

not sure if u already knew this but the gears are not located in the transmission, they are in the rear diffrentral (that pumpkin shped thing betwen the back 2 tires under the car,

And if you have 2.73 gears the drive shaft (the part that goes from the trans to the rear diff turns 2.73 times to make the tires spin one complet time

Yes I knew that they were in the rear end. Are they hard to change?
