ok, I forgot to put transmission fluid in the TQ converter before install and lock it in to the tranny before bolting on to flywheel,

we started the car and put it in drive and it wont move,

what damage did i do? did i burn the converter up or did

destroy one of the pumps? just need the truth

i dont think you should have hurt it.did you add fluid and check the level.you need to add the fluid with it running in park.converter should hold more than 4 quarts

ok

i havnt pulled it off and locked the converter in place yet,

so ive put about 10 quarts of fluid in all ready,

the only thing i was worried about is even if the tq converter

wasnt lock in shoudnt the pump started movin the fluid?(the fluid level didnt change on dip stick)

it will not pump if its not locked in.put it back together and let us know.should be fine.if you hurt anything it would be the front pump and that is easy to change.

problems

ok i pulled the tranny out and tried to put the converter on and it didnt click, so im guessing maybe the pump is broke. any ideas?

how big of a deal is it to change the front pump? also i noticed the tranny was leaking a strawberry milkshake color from the converter only, everything else was red, maybe this was grease from the pump?

any ideas would help.
