A4 guys, how much MPH did you gain from your cam install..

Just curious as to the gain from your cam installs..

I'm curious mostly from the 224/230 XE guys, but the hotcam and other cams in a similar field would be appreciated. I maxxed out at 104 MPH w/ my headers & converter in about 78-80* weather.

Going to be heading to the track for the first time since I installed the cam in about 5* hotter weather. will probably be like 80* or so, but I'm curious as to what I should look to as far as gains go.

It's tuned pretty decently from what I can tell with PCMforless.

Thanks!

Cam alone isnt it. There is traction, track conditions and driver to take into consideration.

It's all about the 60 foot.

Javier. How you been? My best MPH with my Hot Cam was 110.34. I usually run around 108 - 109 mph on the stock heads & 3605 race wt. I think you will see similair or better trap speeds with that cam.

Good Luck & I will be watching for your record run post!!

I've got an XE 224/230 in my car. Pulls like crazy on the street but at the track I had a ton of traction problems (suspension and tires/wheels are still stock, no tuning yet either).

I ran a 13.7 @ 102 with a 2.39 60' on street tires. On top of that, The tranny refused to shift into 3rd gear... it would just hit the stock fuel cutoff at the top of 2nd and bounce off the rev limiter for at least 2 solid seconds... that's time that the car could've been accelerating... and believe me, even with bad traction this cam pulls like crazy

I'll let ya know how how things go once I get some traction... and a tune.

Before the cam I ran a 13.6's @ around 100 mph. Didn't do a stall until after the cam. I ran 12.87 @ 106 after cam before stall.
