Some A4's came with a black **** that stopped the shifter from going to 1st. Luckily, mine came without this, and with 3.23's.

The sticker that just lists a whole loadful of numbers seperated by spaces to tell what your car has and is, Does this tell you what gears you have and all that good stuff? does anybody know of a site that tells you what most of this stuff means? or could any of you? The only one i know of is my paint color. 81u or something like that... i guess i dont know, anymore

alright thanks for that, i found a site that lists a bunch of them, but not even half. I guess I have 3.23's then, how much of a difference is it from 3.23 to 3.42?

 

I want to do this.can I have some exact instructions..can I then get the 3.23 plate that has first gear on there .What is the advantage to this really..doesn't the car leave in first anyway if you leave it in drive..and don't the cars get best times just autoshifting anyway.? I also have the gutless 2.73 gears and 1st gear lockout.

 

Did that to my T/A when I had it...was always fun putting it in first and driving by a group of people and hitting the gas.

 

Just to clarify, GU2 = 2.73:1

 

and clarified further GU4=3.08:1 (but were not offered on the F-body)
